Since 1996, KaBOOM! has collaborated with partners to build, open, or improve more than 17,000 playgrounds, engaged more than 1.5 million volunteers, and served 9 million kids. The Manager, Creative Services on the External Affairs team is responsible for stewarding the KaBOOM! brand across a variety of audiences and mediums, including through all of our print materials, branded collateral, and photographic and video assets. He/she will manage in-house and external vendor/freelancer activities, ensuring project milestones and expectations are met.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the creation of all brand and creative concepts for KaBOOM!, effectively positioning our cause, initiatives and the impact of our work across all stakeholders and audiences
  • Maintain brand consistency by ensuring materials are developed following the KaBOOM! Style Guide; updating and appending the KaBOOM! Style Guide as needed
  • Develop solutions with internal clients and external vendors, synthesizing complex concepts into cohesive, on-brand assets that motivate the intended audience into action
  • Develop creative briefs, budgets and project schedules to guide the creation of new materials
  • Maintain supply of print collateral for departmental events and programs
  • Make recommendations regarding the content and format of key KaBOOM! materials, such as the annual report
  • Regularly communicate the progress and status of projects with supervisor and KaBOOM! staff through digital communications platforms and department/status meetings
  • Manage all creative vendors, freelancers, interns and subordinate designers
  • Maintain in-house lightbox and toolkit for staff to self-develop their own materials
  • Create materials and assets as needed
  • Actively contribute to our inclusive work environment by valuing other people regardless of differences and take an active role in promoting practices that support diversity, inclusion and cultural competence
