TITLE: Corporate Partnerships Intern

DEPARTMENT: Corporate Partnerships



LOCATION: Washington, DC

COMPENSATION: $500 total



KaBOOM! is looking for a college student, recent college graduate or graduate student to join our dynamic Corporate Partnerships team. The Corporate Partnerships team is responsible for building relationships with high-level corporate partners and identifying and securing funding for our programs, initiatives and operations. 



  • Support corporate and foundation new business development prospecting activities through research, mailings and data analysis
  • Evaluate playground post-build, volunteer engagement survey process and develop a summary report of collected information
  • Coordinate fundraising strategies including the implementation of sales campaigns and prospect engagement activities and the compilation of prospect proposals, community impact statements and research profiles
  • Research key trends and themes in CSR, cause marketing, and non-profits working in the children's play, health and wellness space
  • Assist with data management using Salesforce CRM
  • Provide administrative support as needed: for example, invoice processing, compiling pitch materials, and organizing outbound mailing



  • A matriculating college student who has earned enough credits for a sophomore status, or a student who has graduated from college within the preceding six months
  • Area of academic study relates to the intern opening strongly preferred
  • Ability to work in Washington, D.C. KaBOOM! office
  • Ability to work between 40 hours per week
  • Ability to work a minimum of 8 weeks May through August 2018
  • Ability to secure their own lodging/housing
  • Adhere to all KaBOOM! employment policies


  • Excellent organizational skills, great initiative and positive attitude
  • Can effectively manage responsibilities and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to confidently and clearly communicate information verbally and in writing
  • Strong attention to detail in data maintenance and project organization
  • Open and receptive to feedback and learning opportunities
  • Proficient in MS Suite and internet research tools
  • Some knowledge of the non-profit sector, research, fundraising and Salesforce (or another donor database), either through coursework or professional experience
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality with proprietary information
  • Conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times; including working in a cooperative manner within a team-oriented environment
