Position Name: Manager, Cause Marketing & Individual Giving

Department: Corporate Partnerships

Reports To:  Director, Cause Marketing & Individual Giving

Brief Summary of Position:

The Manager, Cause Marketing & Individual Giving (Manager) will pitch, develop and implement cause marketing and individual giving programs to grow unrestricted revenue for KaBOOM! The Manager will work with the Director, Cause Marketing & Individual Giving, the Corporate Partnerships Team, and cross-functionally with External Affairs and other KaBOOM! departments to run these campaigns in a way that also helps to grow brand awareness, affinity and engagement for KaBOOM!

Duties and Responsibilities:

Individual Giving

  • Primary responsibility for hitting annual individual giving/fundraising revenue goals for KaBOOM!
  • Optimize individual giving/fundraising for KaBOOM! by developing and implementing programs that are creative, on-brand and rooted in sound strategy.
  • Collaborate with External Affairs Department (EA) to develop and manage effective donor communications to drive engagement, increase repeat donors, and grow the first-time donor database.
  • Build programs to equip key senior staff and Board of Directors with tools to raise funds for KaBOOM!
  • Work with Director, VP and EA team to support strategies and run tactical program that will grow our email database and earn new fans and followers on key social platforms such as Facebook and Twitter.
  • Manage the annual, multi-channel end-of-year fundraising campaign.
  • Assist Account Management, Corporate Partnerships (CP) and EA teams with tools and materials for online fundraising, reporting, and content as necessary.
  • Actively attend and participate in relevant conferences; share new knowledge with teammates.
  • Assist with creation, development, and management of Major Donors fundraising materials.
  • Manage all reporting of individual giving/fundraising campaigns to relevant stakeholders such as the CP team, CEO, Board of Directors, etc.

Cause Marketing

  • Secondary responsibility for hitting annual cause marketing revenue goals for KaBOOM!
  • Work independently as well as collaboratively with Director and CP teammates to develop and implement cause marketing campaigns that are on-brand, efficient and effective at driving unrestricted revenue for KaBOOM!
  • Independently pitch cause marketing campaigns to key contacts at targeted brands and companies.
  • Work with Director and EA team to implement social and earned media programs to support and promote cause partnerships.
  • Work with Director and EA team to monitor and report out on cause marketing campaigns to relevant stakeholders such as the cause partner, the CP team, CEO, Board of Directors, etc.

Other/Misc.

  • Supervise up to two interns.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with cross functional team members including but not limited to those responsible for account management, program management, finance, CRM, website and social properties, creative and content development, etc.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Genuine, nerd-level enthusiasm for marketing and/or fundraising.
  • Solid knowledge base in fundraising and/or marketing strategy and methodology; digital fundraising expertise a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Mature work ethic and four (4) or more years of experience in marketing, cause marketing, and/or individual giving/fundraising.
  • Proven track record of delivering results in previous roles.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
  • Excellent relationship building and project management skills
  • Ability to exercise discretion; ability to recognize when it's time to step off that email chain and have a live conversation.
  • Effective communication skills (listening, oral, written and presentation).
  • Positive, can-do outlook on work and life.
